DART joins Mexican tradition at area events
DART celebrates Cinco de Mayo with booths containing DART schedule information in Spanish and English, games, and fun prizes at the following events:
Cinco de Mayo at Pike Park, Dallas, 2807 Harry Hines Boulevard, from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday, May 5 and Sunday, May 6.
Cinco de Mayo at Texas Stadium, Irving, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday, May 6.
Cinco de Mayo at Ice House Cultural Center, Dallas, 1000 W. Page Avenue, from noon to 10 p.m. on Sunday, May 6.
Cinco de Mayo or May fifth marks the day when 5,000 Mestizo and Zapotec Indians defeated the French army in the 1862 Battle of Puebla. Today, Cinco de Mayo festivities symbolize Mexican unity and patriotism.-- 30 --
