DART Sets the Table for Celebration with Soul Food Cook-Off
DART's Annual Soul Food Cook-Off, part of the agency's African American Heritage month celebration, brings together DART cooks for a festival of mouth-watering ribs, fried chicken and friendly competition.
Hosted by the African American Heritage Committee, local elected officials and celebrities have been invited to judge "soul food" from any culture entered by DART employees on Friday, February 15 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the atrium of DART headquarters, 1401 Pacific.
"This is a great opportunity for all DART employees to celebrate their diversity and ethnic backgrounds, as well stimulate camaraderie and share our cooking talents," says Willene Watson, Community Affairs representative and African American Heritage Committee member.
The event includes the cook-off, live entertainment, vendors, celebrity judges and special guests. Departments will compete against each other for the best soul food dish. Winners will receive an individual prize and the winning department will receive a certificate.-- 30 --
