August 5, 2002 New member to represent Dallas
Beatrice Alba Martinez to represent Dallas on DART Board of Directors Beatrice Martinez has been appointed to represent the City of Dallas on the Dallas Area Rapid Transit Board of Directors. Board members are appointed by the city councils of DART's 13 member cities and serve two-year terms.
Mrs. Martinez is an independent realtor with RE/MAX Associates of Dallas. She brings over 25 years of community service experience to the DART Board. "My passion is the City of Dallas and to help its continued growth and prosperity," Martinez said. "In addition I will advocate for the needs of the growing Hispanic community in the metroplex."
Martinez served on the board or committees of the Dallas Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Tri-Ethnic Committee, the D.I.S.D. Hispanic Advisory Committee, the YWCA, the Tejano Democrats and the Council of PTA Board of Directors.
She is a current member of the Governmental Affairs Committee for the Greater Dallas Association of Realtors, LULAC Council #100, and the United States Selective Service Board of Texas, Region II.
Beatrice Martinez attended San Antonio College, El Centro College and North Lake College.-- 30 --
